Fondée en 2005, l'Espace d'Art du Canal regroupe sous sa bannière des artistes d'horizons divers. Cette association, de plus de 25 membres qui travaillent tous dans l'ancienne manufacture de matelas Simmons située au bord du canal Lachine, s'efforce de promouvoir la grande créativité de ses membres. Les expositions solos ou de groupes sont prioritaires à l'agenda de la galerie, mais la promotion de la communauté artistique émergente est aussi une préoccupation.
Founded in 2005, the Espace d'Art du Canal unites a diverse group of artists under one banner. This association of over 25 individuals, all working out of studios in the historic Simmons mattress factory on Montreal's Lachine Canal, strives to promote the abundant creativity of its members. Solo and group exhibitions are foremost on the gallery's list of activities, but the promotion of the area's growing artistic community is also a priority.
